Culver's Plaza
Brookfield, Wisconsin

The owner required a mixed-use commercial development which contained a restaurant of approximately 5,400 SF and mixed-use retail of approximately 8,500 SF.  Phase II of the project involves the renovation of an existing commercial building into a Class A office space.  The City of Brookfield had precise criteria to follow.  This criteria was established in earlier studies which defined building design, building placement, parking placement, and pedestrian-friendly design criteria.  Also required in the city of Brookfield criteria was streetscape design that would help to create a place that encouraged pedestrian traffic.  This project would be the first to be built in this area under the new guidelines, thus setting the standard for the entire area.

Long Grove Commons
Long Grove, Illinois

This award-winning development is designed for a number of different tenants, ranging from a high-end coffee shop with drive-thru, small and large restaraunts, fitness center and other diverse retailers.  This project is built in the same vernacular as the nearby village with historical and classical architectural elements.  The basic principle for design is that of a village setting, presented in a manner that incorporates human scale and quality of materials.

Special circumstances that had to be overcome were the restrictions of the 100'-0" wetland setback and 50'-0" no-grading setback adjacent to the wetland.  These issues were resolved.  In the end, a village setting was created with pedestrian walking paths, nature trails, streetscapes, and an interesting mixture of commercial office, retail, and restaurant spaces.

Schlossmann's Jeep Chrysler Dealership
Brookfield, WI

This high-end automobile dealership has been designed to meet manufacturer's brand identity requirements and more importantly, to satisfy strict architectural design guidelines of the local municipality.  The project fronts on a busy arterial road where the high speeds of passing traffic demand a recognizable architectural form.  Materials have been chosen and assembled to present a unique expression.  The several brands under a single roof are separated into quadrants to help introduce customers to the various vehicle types.
