Christopher Kidd, AIA, ALA, NCARB, RIBA
President
                                          


Chris has been involved in the architectural profession since High School starting out in the blueprint room at Mead Digital Systems. Chris is licensed in 45 States and completed his Bachelor of Environmental Design at Miami University of Ohio and his Master of Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has also completed additional classes at Harvard University. Chris oversees the daily operations of CKA and is responsible for marketing, financial, and project management. Chris works directly with our clients and is dedicated to the profession of Architecture and the Community. He began the firm in August of 1995 with a partner and since that time the firm has expanded in expertise and depth of staff. Chris feels strongly that the success CKA has achieved is by the grace of God and is thankful for that and many other great blessings. (Proverb 3:5-6)

Chris enjoys being with his family, sports, and travel. He is married with six children.

James Altenburg, DE
Plumbing Engineer
                                          


Jim has been designing plumbing systems for over 17 years and his projects have included the full spectrum of building types from churches, banks, and schools to medical facilities, fire houses, and pump stations.

While initially obtaining his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a wide variety of interests steered him into the architectural field where he became a Registered Designer of Plumbing Engineering Systems. He enjoys using his communication skills to establish and nurture relationships with customers and local authorities to ensure project designs are accurate, cost effective and code compliant.

When Jim is not in front of the computer or on the telephone, he enjoys cross country skiing, downhill skiing, bicycling, kayaking, hiking and anything else that takes him outdoors with his family.

Nick Burris, AIA, ALA, NCARB, LEED AP
Senior Project Manager
                                          


Nick started with Christopher Kidd & Associates in 2001 as an architectural intern and has since returned with exposure to many project types and sizes. Nick has the ability to manage multiple projects, manage and supervise others, and coordinate with consultants to deliver complicated projects on schedule and within budget. His extensive understanding of construction technologies and knowledge of federal, state and local codes has proved to be a valuable asset for Christopher Kidd & Associates. Nick has a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and Business Minor from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Nick is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Association of Licensed Architects, and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He recently became a LEED Accredited Professional and hopes to integrate sustainable design into his work. Outside of the office, Nick celebrates his free time with his wife and two children. His hobbies include sports, home remodeling, and architectural travels.   

Chrissy Clyse
Administrative Assistant
                                           

Chrissy comes to Christopher Kidd & Associates with a strong, extensive and adaptable administrative support background.  She graduated UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Science - Natural Resources/Wildlife Ecology degree.  Upon graduating, she accepted a Molecular Biology Research Associates position with the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center.  Resigning her position with the WNPRC as the result of relocating, Chrissy accepted a position as Office Manager with an Environmental Services company.  She later moved on to an Engineering Support position with an Engine Parts Manufacturing company.   At Christopher Kidd & Asscoiates, Chrissy supports the accounting department.

Outside the office, Chrissy puts her "Wildlife" degree to use managing her kids' schedules.   She volunteers through the Junior Achievement program teaching kids about Entrepreneurship, Financial Responsibility and Employability skills.   When life permits, she fosters rescue puppy litters until they are old enough and healthy enough to go to their forever homes.  She enjoys volleyball, biking, and has recently begun running half marathons.  

Dale Damrow
Plumbing Designer
                                          


Dale brings over 28 years of Mechanical Consulting Engineering experience to Christopher Kidd & Associates. Dale is a Registered Designer of Plumbing Engineering Systems. His major projects include Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Administration Buildings, Libraries, Fire Stations, Law Enforcement Buildings, Nursing Homes, and International projects in Egypt and Iraq.

In his off time he enjoys time with his family, stock car racing, softball, disc golf and cross country skiing.

Alise Y. Dawkins
Office Manager
                                          


Alise joined Christopher Kidd & Associates, in January 2005 after completing an Associate's Degree as a Microcomputer Specialist at MATC.  She began implementing her computer skills as an administrative assistant and in April 2007, she was promoted to Office Manager.  She maintains and oversees all the day-to-day activities of the office.  When not at her desk, you can probably find Alise attending religious services, fishing, playing basketball/tennis, sewing, gardening, and traveling with her husband.  She also considers herself a "Tool Belt Diva".
Gary W. Dawkins, ALA
Director of Architecture
                                          


With a depth of architectural knowledge, Gary has worked in the field of architecture for over 40 years and with Christopher Kidd & Associates for 5 years. Gary received his Bachelor of Architecture from Miami University - Ohio and is a licensed architect in the State of Wisconsin and a member of Association of Licensed Architects. His expanse of intellect has made him an invaluable resource to those that work with him - from fellow colleagues to consultants.  As Director of Architecture, Gary oversees large scale projects, helps manage the employee workload, and serves as a resource to the architectural staff.  His depth of experience has allowed Christopher Kidd & Associates, LLC to expand its portfolio of work. An avid car enthusiast, when not in the office you will find him in his Miata on the open road with the top down. In his free time, he stays at his Door County Studio where he enjoys writing short stories, fly fishing, painting, and photography.
